The Anime Tourism Association, which aims to use places from famous anime as a means of promoting tourism, revealed a new pilgrimage that includes 88 must-see locations around Japan. Karatsu appears on the list after having gained a great deal of attention since a fictionalized version of the city was used as the setting for figure skating-themed smash hit anime “Yuri!!! on Ice”. The announcement comes after a recent trend that saw many anime fans visit some of the locations that inspired the film “Kimi no na wa” (Your Name.). Source: Saga Shimbun, 8/27/2017
