The number of passengers using the Kitakyushu Airport in 2010 totaled 1.205 million, the first time the 1.2 million level had been reached in two years. The total represented a 3.6% increase from the previous year. One reason for the recovery was the increased use of the flights to Haneda in Tokyo by people on business. They accounted for the bulk of the airport users, and their totals rose by 5.0% from the previous year.
