The Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office released a report on its survey of the number of individual farmers and agricultural enterprises in the region. The report states there were roughly 246,000 such enterprises as of February 2012, an 18.2% drop from the previous survey five years ago. Meanwhile, the average amount of land farmed by an individual enterprise was 1.67 hectares, a 20.1% increase.
