The Moji Customs Office in Kitakyushu reported that auto exports from Kyushu and Okinawa and Yamaguchi prefectures in March were down 30.5% in financial terms from the previous year period to 90.3 billion yen. It was the first time in 14 months that exports had fallen below 100 billion yen. The customs office attributed this to the suspension of production after the Tohoku earthquake.
