The Kyushu Bureau of Telecommunications released its report on the diffusion ratio of broadband circuits in the region. The rate of diffusion in households in the seven prefectures is 52.9%, 15.4 percentage points below the national rate of 68.3%. The bureau attributes this to the fewer number of regional companies in the broadband business, and the greater number of outlying islands in the region.
