Large commercial facilities throughout Kyushu posted sales higher than those of the year-before period during the so-called Golden Week holidays from April 29 to May 5, it was learned. Some facilities enjoyed a double-digit percentage point increase in customer turnout, buoyed by special events designed to attract shoppers. Sales at Hakata Daimaru in Fukuoka City’s Tenjin district rose 3%, while the number of customers increased by 4%.
