According to the January-March corporate economic forecast for northern Kyushu (Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Saga prefectures) compiled by the Fukuoka Local Finance Branch Bureau, the business sentiment index for the previous quarter rose 0.9 percentage points to minus 11.1. That was the first improvement in two quarters. Sentiment for the four southern prefectures, however, plunged 12.1 percentage points to minus 17.8, the first decline in four months.
