Kyushu Electric, Saibu Gas Move in Opposite Directions for October Rates


Kyushu Electric Power will raise electricity rates in October for the sixth consecutive month, while Saibu Gas will lower the prices it charges for gas for the first time in six months, the companies announced. The Kyushu Electric rate increase will be by about three yen according to its standard model, and reflects the rising prices of coal. The Saibu Gas rate decrease will be by about 10 yen according to its standard model, and reflects the drop in liquid natural gas prices.
