Kyushu Electric Power announced it would build a mega solar power plant in Omura, Nagasaki Prefecture, on the site of an old coal-burning thermal power plant in that city. Work will begin next year, and it is scheduled to begin operation in 2013. It will have an output of 3,000 kW, and will be Kyushu Electric’s second mega solar power plant with an output exceeding 1,000 kW.
