Kyushu Electric to Build Model Intelligent House

Kyushu Electric Power announced that it will build an “intelligent house” on the grounds of its research institute in Minami Ward, Fukuoka City. Construction is slated to start in June and to be completed by the end of October. The house will employ both the latest energy saving technology and information and communications technology. One feature of the so-called Dream House will be a system to curb power costs by switching among such power sources as solar power, wind power, and lithium power cells based on the season and the circumstances of use. It will feature two modes that the user can select: one for cutting expenses and a different mode for limiting CO2 emission amounts.
