Kyushu Electric Power released its report on the leak of radioactive material from Reactor #3 at its Genkai nuclear power plant in Saga Prefecture. The report states that the leak was unrelated to the controversial use of mixed oxide fuel, and that the use of that fuel, known as pluthermal in Japanese, did not present a problem. The utility says it will redouble its efforts to maintain safety in the future.
