In its analysis of trade statistics for FY 2007, the Kyushu Economic Research Center reports that exports from the region to the 14 countries and territories of the Middle East rose by about 60% over the past four years. The increase was particularly noticeable for truck tires, industrial boilers, and recreational boats. The value of exports to the countries in the region totaled roughly 224.6 billion yen, a rise of 30% from the previous year.
