Kyushu regional banks have established rules to prevent those people with ties to criminal gangs to establish new accounts, and to close any such existing accounts unilaterally. The banks began putting the rules into effect in April, and had already formulated similar regulations for loans last year. The major financial groups in the region have yet to cancel any existing accounts, however.
