On June 1, a 24-year-old employee of the Kyushu Transport Bureau was arrested on suspicion of public indecency for allegedly exposing himself while on a JR Kagoshima Main Line train in Fukuoka Prefecture.
The arrested individual is Shigezo Miyamoto, a staff member of the Kyushu Transport Bureau’s Automotive Traffic Department. According to police, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on a train running on the northbound track between Koga and Chidori stations on the JR Kagoshima Main Line, where he is believed to have exposed his lower body.
Another passenger on the same train reported the incident to the nearest police station. The suspect was identified after the police reviewed footage from surveillance cameras at the station and surrounding area. Miyamoto reportedly exited the train at Fukuma station, one stop after Chidori, and reboarded a southbound train without passing through the ticket gate.
