Kyushu’s Big Motor Locations Hit with Suspensions

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has issued administrative penalties to 34 Big Motor business locations due to fraudulent insurance claims. In Kyushu, this affected nine sites across four prefectures. After uncovering violations like inflated repair claims and incomplete vehicle inspections, the MLIT took action. While Big Motor was given an opportunity to defend its actions, it did not attend the hearing. In Kyushu, operations at the affected locations will be suspended for up to 30 days. Two branches in Fukuoka will lose their vehicle inspection designations. The MLIT plans to continue investigations and has instructed Big Motor to re-inspect certain vehicles. Source: MLIT / NHK
