Mayor of Kumamoto City Teleworks From Home

The mayor of Kumamoto City, Kazufumi Onishi, began teleworking from his home on April 3 to lessen the risk of new coronavirus infection. The mayor, who is known as “twitter mayor” by some internet users because of his frequent use of social media, announced the initiative on April 2. He also talked about the importance of avoiding unnecessary outings. Despite working from home, he has made preparations so that he can be at the city hall within 10~15 minutes if required.
