Miyazaki Prefecture lifted the restrictions on the movement of chickens in the final district where they applied, which means that the avian flu epidemic among chicken producers in the prefecture is officially over. The restrictions were first applied more than two months ago. Chicken farms in eight municipalities were affected, and 1.01 million chickens were slaughtered as a result. Financial damages are expected to exceed 10 billion yen.
