After Macao removed its prohibition on beef imports from Japan, a Miyazaki Prefecture meat products company became the first to export beef to the region on the 19th. Macao had prevented Japanese beef from entering after it discovered BSE in a shipment in September 2001. Three Japanese companies have been approved for beef exports, two of which are in Kyushu.
