A Nishinippon Shimbun survey of 114 leading Kyushu companies reveals that 40% will not revise their hiring plans for the spring of 2012 due to the Tohoku earthquake, and 23.7% plan to increase hiring. In contrast, 15.8% of the respondents said they intended to either reduce hiring or not hire at all. That is the first time in three years the percentage of the former has exceeded that of the latter.
