The Industrial Technology Center of Nagasaki and the Nagasaki Prefectural Institute of Fisheries have jointly developed new technology for the long-distance shipping of large quantities of squid. Squid have difficulty withstanding long travel, so it was difficult to develop the technology. The company has applied for a patent, and they hope the techniques will lead to new sales channels for the squid-producing regions of Nagasaki.
