The Nishi-Nippon Railway Corp. (Nishitetsu) announced that it will install solar power generation panels with an output of 500 kW on the roof of its car inspection facility in Chikushino, Fukuoka Prefecture. They will begin generating solar power in October 2013. They anticipate annual power generation of 490,000 kW, or enough for 140 households. They plan to sell all the power to Kyushu Electric Power for revenue of 19 million yen.
