Nishitetsu and Mitsubishi Corporation are collaborating to provide their “on-demand bus” technology to local governments and businesses across Japan. The group operates an AI-based microbus ‘Noruto (のるーと)’ in Island City and the Iki-minami district, and has served more than 48,000 passengers. Many organizations have visited the bus routes to observe the operation, showing interests in the system that may suit other sightseeing areas and regions with limited population, too. The group targets to achieve ¥100 million sales in the next five years. Sources: Nikkei / Nishitetsu
