Nissan Motors donated an electric vehicle charger to Kumamoto Prefecture last week, marking the automaker’s first such donation to any local government in Japan. Kumamoto Prefecture is promoting the use of both electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids and is conducting trials with the aim of creating an environment for their use. The donated charger can recharge a totally depleted battery to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes.
