Nissan President Carlos Ghosn visited the company’s Kitakyushu plant to attend the ceremony establishing the new wholly owned Nissan Kyushu subsidiary, in which Nissan’s Kyushu operations will be spun off in October. During his visit, he said that the Nissan Kyushu production target for the current fiscal year was more than 500,000 units. The Kitakyushu plant manager said that Kyushu plant production, combined with that of Nissan Shatai Kyushu, would likely result in record high production for the company in the region.
