Supermoon Tonight, the Largest in 68 Years

Tonight there will be a supermoon, a rare occurrence in which the moon is at its perigee (closest point to the earth) and also a full moon. The moon is predicted to start rising above Fukuoka at 17:22 and will be at its perigee at 20:21. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Kyushu is rain, but any break in the clouds will reveal the spectacle. The next time the moon is expected to appear to be of a similar size will be in 18 years time! Source: Tenki.jp, Nov. 13, 2016
