Omuta Nishitetsu Taxi, part of the Nishitetsu group, will liquidate its operations this fall. The move is part of the Nishitetsu group’s business plan for next fiscal year laying out plans for group restructuring, which will include withdrawing from or downsizing unprofitable businesses. The taxi company has been barely profitable in recent years, and profits last year were down 20% from FY 2003 totals. There were no prospects for increased revenue in the future.
