Only 10% Of Restaurants and Bars Approved For Extra Hour Of Operation

Fukuoka Prefecture has rolled out its own COVID-19 safety recognition program for restaurants and bars, offering the privilege of operating one extra hour during Oct. 1 ~ 14. However, only around 10% of eligible eateries have received approval so far. Since the program began in July, about 11,000 shops had applied by the end of September, but a delay in the examination process ended up giving recognition to some 4,383 businesses (as of Oct. 1). There are approximately 30,000 eateries in Fukuoka Prefecture. Source: Mainichi / Asahi
