Oto presents casino resort proposal to residents

Oto held a residents’ briefing on Sep. 30 about its bid to attract an integrated resort with a casino, hotels and an international convention center. The town presented estimates of 700 billion yen to 900 billion yen in initial investment and 13 million visitors annually. It also projected annual casino tax revenue of 45 billion yen for Fukuoka Prefecture. The town wants a prefectural assembly decision in December ahead of the national application period scheduled for May through November 2027.
