Pre-packed Halal Certified Curry by APU on Sale

A pre-packed curry developed by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) has obtained Halal certification. The curry was originally developed for the university cafeteria, incorporating ideas from exchange students from Thailand. After gaining popularity in the cafeteria, a pre-packed product debuted in October 2018, named “World’s Deguchi Curry” after the name of the university president. The new Halal version will be in stores from late July, available at the APU university shop, JR Oita Station, Oita Airport and more. Two different types (Red and Green) will be sold for ¥756. This is the second development of a halal product by the university. Source: Nikkei Shimbun, 6/25/2019
