The Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry released the results of its 2009 survey of the rate of diffusion for solar power generation systems for the home. Saga Prefecture topped the national list for the eighth straight year with a rate of 4.45%. They were followed in the national rankings by three other Kyushu prefectures: Kumamoto Prefecture second with 4.31%, Miyazaki Prefecture third with 4.29%, and Nagasaki Prefecture fourth with 3.34%.
