The ’Authentic Shochu and Awamori Export Promotion Network’ for the Kyushu and Okinawa region launched in late May. The organization has ninety-seven members, including 37 local distilleries, 28 domestic and overseas traders, local governments, and other public sectors in Kyushu, local universities, and more. It aims to activate networking and collaborations among member groups to increase regional shochu and awamori yearly exports to ¥4 billion in 2025 from ¥1.5 billion in 2019.
