Plans are underway to build a shopping mall on the grounds of the Nagasaki National Hospital, the Nishinippon Shimbun has learned. It is the first time a shopping mall would open on the site of any of the 144 national hospitals nationwide. The objective is to create a more pleasant environment for the disabled, who account for 70% of the facility’s inpatients and outpatients.
