Simultaneous Total Lunar Eclipse and Uranus Eclipse Tuesday Night

A total lunar eclipse, in which the earth’s shadow gradually covers the entire moon, will be visible in many parts of Japan tomorrow night, weather permitting, for the first time in 442 years. During the “total eclipse,” when the earth’s shadow entirely covers the moon in most areas, Uranus will be seen behind the moon simultaneously. According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the lunar eclipse will begin at around 6:09 pm tomorrow and last from 7:16 to 8:42 pm. The total eclipse will last from 7:16 to 8:42 pm, and the partially eclipsed moon will return to the bright full moon at around 9:49 pm. In addition, the eclipse of Uranus, the seventh planet in the solar system, will be visible simultaneously in most areas except for the Ogasawara Islands. In western Japan and the Tokyo area, Uranus will be visible during the total eclipse, while in Hokkaido and the Tohoku area, Uranus will be behind the moon in a partially eclipsed state after the total eclipse is over. The next time a similar phenomenon will be seen in Japan is expected to be in 2344, 322 years. Source: NHK
