A man in his 70s was stabbed near JR Hakata Station on the evening of Dec. 15, and his son was arrested shortly afterward after voluntarily appearing at a nearby police box with a bladed weapon, police said. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m., when witnesses reported a man bleeding near the station area in Hakata Ward. The victim was conscious when taken to hospital and able to respond to questions. Police identified the suspect as a 37-year-old unemployed man with no fixed address. He reportedly admitted the act and told investigators he intended to kill his father. Investigators believe the two had been in the same vehicle prior to the attack and found bloodstains inside. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the family relationship and the events leading up to the stabbing. Source: RKB
