Sony Group Corporation announced the development of a new semiconductor factory in Kumamoto Prefecture. The company will work with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited, one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers, and this will be the company’s first manufacturing base in Japan. They will invest and raise funds of approximately ¥800 billion. The new factory will be located next to Sony’s another semiconductor factory in Kikuyomachi and will employ 1,500 persons.
