The mayors, government officials, and business leaders of the sister cities Fukuoka City and Busan, South Korea, launched the Fukuoka – Busan Economic Cooperation Council on the 20th. The objective is to work for the creation of a supranational economic sphere in the area. After studies are conducted, the council will formulate and adopt joint projects next August. The declaration issued at the end of the summit focused on strengthening ties between the two regions and working together in the tourism sector.
