Stressed medical workers offered support / 80% fewer people downtown / One new COVID-19 infection

A report released by NTT Docomo showed that the areas of Tenjin and Hakata saw approximately 80% less human traffic people between May 3 ~ May 5, compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, the prefecture opened a special telephone consultation center to support local medical workers and their families. While those professionals strive to care for patients infected by the virus, increased workloads, as well as harassments and abuses by others, are causing stress. To relieve some of their mental burdens, psychiatrists and public health care workers are providing phone consultations between 9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. on weekdays (*closed between noon ~ 1 p.m.) at 092-582-7700. On May 7, Fukuoka Prefecture announced one additional case of COVID-19 infection, bringing the cumulative total to 651. Sources: Fukuoka Prefecture / Yahoo / NHK
