Thai Vietjet Air, a group company of Vietjet Air (Vietnam), launched its Bangkok-Fukuoka route on July 16, 2022, with three round trips per week. This is the first direct non-stop between Fukuoka and Bangkok in about two and half years. One-way fares start at just ¥11,500, with three round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. A ceremony was held at the Fukuoka Airport International Passenger Terminal Building with Mr. Luong Truong An, Vice President of Vietjet Air of Thailand, Mr. Sorut Sukthaworn, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture Vice Governor, Fukuoka City Vice Mayor, and others in attendance.
