Japanese home builder Sumitomo House and US-based Marriott International announced on the 28th that they will open their hotel, “The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka,” located in the mixed-use complex “Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City” in Tenjin, Fukuoka City, on June 21. This will be the first Ritz-Carlton hotel to debut in Kyushu. The hotel’s details were also revealed on the English version of their website on the same day. The lobby will be on the 18th floor, while the guest rooms, which include 20 suites, will be on the 19th to 23rd floors. The 24th floor will be a lounge, bar, and pool area. The banquet rooms and other facilities will be on the third floor, and the entrance will be on the first floor. The 17th floor will be used as the hotel’s office space. The dates for the opening of the Japanese website and the start of reservations are yet to be announced. The hotel was initially planning to open in the spring, but they decided to adjust the opening date to after spring, taking into account the timing of furniture delivery and staff training.
