The 2025 Tour de Kyushu cycling race will expand to five prefectures for the first time, adding Nagasaki and Miyazaki to its previous host regions of Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Oita. Announced by the Kyushu Regional Strategy Council on May 29, the event aims to promote regional revitalization through international sports tourism.
In Nagasaki, a criterium race will be held on October 10 in downtown Sasebo, featuring a challenging course with sharp turns designed for spectator engagement. Miyazaki will host a stage that runs through an arcaded shopping street, with local officials expressing hopes for increased foot traffic and economic impact.
The race continues on October 11–12 in southern Fukuoka and the Aso region of Kumamoto. The final stage on October 13 will span from Nobeoka in Miyazaki to Saiki in Oita, highlighting inter-prefectural cooperation and diverse terrain across Kyushu. Source: Tour de Kyushu
