A survey one week after tolls were removed on 13 sections of expressways in Kyushu shows that traffic volume had increased by 1.76 times. In addition, there were traffic jams more than one kilometer in length on five sections. The Nishi Kyushu Expressway was the only one in the country to have continuous traffic jams for one week, and they stretched for more than four kilometers on Saturday and Sunday.
