Honey produced in central Fukuoka went on sale on May 22. Dubbed Hakata Mitsu, the honey was produced by Koichi Murayama, the owner of a product planning business in Chuo-ku, on the rooftop of a building in Ropponmatsu and at the Torikai Hachimangu Shrine. Urban beekeeping began in Tokyo’s posh Ginza district in 2006 and has since spread around the country. “I plan to add more bee boxes and build the brand,” commented Murayama. The honey is available at NEST, an interior goods shop in Yakuin, for ¥ 2,160 per 100g jar. Nishinippon Shimbun 5/22
