The use of the Internet for supermarket shopping, with the purchases delivered to the home, is growing in Kyushu, according to a report in the Nishinippon Shimbun. The amount of money spend nationwide on such services has increased roughly ten-fold since 2004. The service is especially popular among married couples who work, and women with very young children. It is also seen as a service that could benefit older people in remote areas, but people in that age group are less likely to use the Internet.
