Vandals Cut Dozens of Wisteria Vines in Fukuoka’s Maizuru Park

According to Fukuoka City, more than ten branches and vines of wisteria in Maizuru Park were cut off, and the sections appear to have been sawed off flat as if using a saw. However, there were no signs of the flowers themselves being taken. It is possible that the pruning was done by someone with knowledge of trimming techniques or to clear the path, as the affected area faces a busy road. The city has urged people not to cut the trees on their own as only city officials are authorized to prune trees in public areas.
