Fall has fallen upon Fukuoka, and all over the city leaves are taking on vibrant shades of red, orange and gold. Use our handy Koyo (autumn foliage) Guide to find the most beautiful viewing spots in the prefecture – this issue’s cover photo is Nomiyama Kannonji Temple. Fukuoka Now also spoke with the organisers of Kyushu Rainbow Pride 2015 to get the latest details on Kyushu’s second ever LGBT parade. We feature the Hakata Light Up Walk, one of autumn’s most popular nighttime events (it has been named a Japan Heritage Night View). If you’re hankering for some noodles, then check out Gouya for unique and flavorful ramen. Those with a bit of a sweet tooth will love our cafe recommendation, Water site OTTO, which has famously fluffy pancakes. We also introduce Shofuen, a traditional garden which provides an oasis from busy city life. And, as always, we’ve got details on all the hottest events (including Fukuoka’s sumo tournament, the Kyushu Basho!) and the City Bulletin. Read all of this here or download the PDF.
