Yodobashi Camera
6-12 Hakataekichuogai, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City
Description:
With stores throughout Japan but established in Tokyo, this is where Yodobashi’s largest store has remained, but Hakata’s Yodobashi Camera is one of the biggest electronic retailers in Fukuoka. Three floors are dedicated to enormous selections of electronic appliances, whilst the others have the shopping mall staples, like restaurants and clothes stores, if you’re not keen on electronic gadgets.
There’s ample parking space (from the fifth to eleventh floors!) and from the upper basement to the third floor you’ll find the homeware, telephone and computer departments. Other stores in Yodobashi Camera sell toys, DVDs, CDs, video games, figurines, bicycles and musical instruments – there’s something for everyone here!

How to enjoy?
We recommend at least two hours to tour Yodobashi Camera, with its vast and almost overwhelming abundance of electronics and accessories. You can stroll through and see what’s new or choose what you need, and then head up to the fourth floor to the Taito Station for some fun and Purikura, or stop for some lunch.
For Children: There are many reasons why kids will enjoy Yodobashi Camera – the third floor has all kinds of toys, plush toys , video games and manga, and there’s a Taito Station on the fourth floor.
For Men: There’s a men’s grooming corner on the first floor as well as a watch department. The third floor hosts suits and casual clothes, and an ABC Mart store for cool, trendy and affordable shoes in many sizes.
For Women: There’s a beauty and care corner on on the first floor, plus a massage shop on the fourth floor if you’re feeling tired, but for shopaholics there are some clothes shops too!
For Tourists: Tourists will, of course, love the camera department on the first floor but also the 100yen shop on the fourth floor for inexpensive souvenirs and knick-knacks to take home. Next door is the thoroughly unique Village Vanguard store, which has a touch of a “joke shop” vibe, with many imported items and even more bizarre and quirky things- it’s worth stopping by if it’s just for a browse and a giggle. They also stock a wide range of suitcases on this floor.
