Event 1 ::: Fukuoka International School Spring Festival 2012 Apr. 21 (Sat.) 10.00 ~

A day of international food and fun. Freshly cooked delicious International cuisine, hundreds of bargains at the flea market, brilliant face painting (for kids and grown ups!), lively kids’ games, plenty of fun prizes in the bingo room, exciting and entertaining on-stage performances. Event 2 ::: SOFA Music Kyushu 2012 Apr. 21 (Sat.) 18:00~
An ensemble of some of Europe’s most respected contemporary improvisors, including Keith Rowe of veteran group AMM. This is a very rare treat for Fukuoka audiences and fans of contemporary improvised and experimental music. SOFA is a Norwegian record label founded in 2000 by the musicians Ivar Grydeland and Ingar Zach. During the 11 years of existence SOFA has released nearly 40 albums of improvised music. This tour presents not only SOFA artists, but all of the musicians involved are somehow having an impact on the label’s aesthetics. See more here.

Event 3 ::: 2012 Kyushu Marine Festa in Fukuoka Apr. 21 (Sat.) ~22 (Sun.) 10:00~17:00
This weekend the Fukuoka Marina hosts the 2012 Kyushu Marine Festa in Fukuoka! See a wide range of boats- from the latest models to pleasure boats with engines by major manufacturers! Fishing and engine maintenance seminars are also held. The two day festival is free! See more here.

Event 4 ::: Amaou Matsuri Apr. 22 (Sun.) ~ 
If you have strawberries on your shopping list this weekend, skip the supermarket and visit the Amaou Matsuri in Shikanoshima Kyukamura instead! Pick up to 1.5kg of fresh strawberries from the strawberry fields for just ¥1,000! The strawberry-picking festival runs on Apr. 22 from 9:30~ until sold out.
