Come flip through about a 1,000 different picture books on display at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and participate in fun activities! First held in 2007, this annual picture book event has garnered over 400,000 visitors since its beginning. This year’s theme is “Happy Times”, or “shiawasena jikan”, presenting books with various themes such as time and history, dinosaurs, living things, and the world. The event will also feature highly acclaimed picture book authors, including Eric Carle, Rintaro Uchida and Koshiro Hata. Aside from the picture book exhibition, there are various workshops, story time, and other activities! And if you have visited Mitsumasa Anno’s picture book exhibition and kept the ticket, you’re in luck; you can show the ticket for a discounted entry fee for this event, valid for up to two people per ticket.
