April 2017 Fukuoka Now

By the time you read this the city’s parks should be turning pink with the color of cherry blossoms. On the cover of this month’s magazine is a shot taken from the ruins of Fukuoka Castle in Maizuru Park. Our gourmet page gets a bit more down-to-earth as we introduce Ikkaku Shokudo Kego which is well known for it’s tasty and affordable set meals. Udon Daigaku in Akasaka is our pick for noodles; try their meaty tsujikamon udon! The beer drinking season returns so if you haven’t already checked out Bayern for their German beers and authentic European food and breads – go! Next, we introduce a great place for breakfast, lunch, and coffee in the Josui-dori area, “Saturday. And Ready”. Be sure to try their Lemon Cakes. Finally, we introduce Nishitetsu’s newest money saving pass, Marutto. You get a bus and train pass along with a coupon book full of savings. Our reporters see how far and wide they can get in a single day around Fukuoka. Lots of event information too! Check our website:
