The Beatles’ lyrics “It was twenty years ago today…” comes to mind as this month marks the twentieth year of publication of Fukuoka Now magazine! Huge thanks to the many people who worked here or otherwise contributed to and participated in what we do. And thank you for continuing to read! So, in this 240th issue, we carry on delivering lots of information you can’t find elsewhere, especially in English! This month’s restaurant, Ibushiza, is a classic yakitoriya with some modern touches. For gourmet sandwiches check out our cafe of the month, Buy Me Stand, in Ropponmatsu. And on our noodle page, we are thrilled to introduce Ensei. Try either their curry udon or braised pork noodles, both are top shelf! For fresh air and views, we suggest a boat trip to Himeshima. Also in Itoshima is Akka Punto Effe where you can enjoy fine Italian cuisine on a farm and spend the night in one of their two rooms for the full agritourism experience.
